Hey, check it out! Paul's pitching a tent!

We got to the camp grounds just after 5 o'clock. We were in a big hurry to try and get everything set up before it got dark. After it got dark we realized that we had forgotten to bring a lantern. We ended up BBQing by flashlight until some campers nearby were kind enough to lend us a lantern.
Lesson learned.

平安神宮の近くにある“REIずバー（仮の名前）”でロスコという友達の誕生日会。

This past Sunday I DJ'd at "Latindia", an event held at El Coyote.
There were capoeira artists, a band, DJs and belly dancers.

最近料理にアボカドをよく使います。

肉美味しそう！でも皿はちょっと寂しいね。ご飯を炊こうかな、と思っていたけど、番組は10時までだし、終わってから買い物行って、ご飯を作ったらもう12前だし。。。遅くて、面倒くさいので、無くてもいいかなと思いました。

このブログで政治や社会に関することを書かないようにしていますが、これを読んで本当に腹立ちました。
国に帰ってもらうために、日本は外国人（特に中南米出身の日系の方）にお金を払っています。ただ、国に帰った方は二度と日本に戻れません。何の罪もないのに。
これは一応景気対策として行われていることだと言われていますが、おかしいと思いません？
僕の勘違いだったら教えてください。

Officials in Hamamatsu, an industrial town in central Japan, describe the plan to encourage Latin American guest workers, who are descendants of Japanese emigrants, to return home.

Rita Yamaoka, a mother of three who immigrated from Brazil, recently lost her factory job here. Now, Japan has made her an offer she might not be able to refuse.

The government will pay thousands of dollars to fly Mrs. Yamaoka; her husband, who is a Brazilian citizen of Japanese descent; and their family back to Brazil. But in exchange, Mrs. Yamaoka and her husband must agree never to seek to work in Japan again.

Japan’s offer, extended to hundreds of thousands of blue-collar Latin American immigrants, is part of a new drive to encourage them to leave this recession-racked country. So far, at least 100 workers and their families have agreed to leave, Japanese officials said.

But critics denounce the program as shortsighted, inhumane and a threat to what little progress Japan has made in opening its economy to foreign workers.

去年の夏。

So, I've been commuting to and from Tokyo for 8 and a half months, and for the first time I finally saw Mt. Fuji from the window of the bullet train! It's usually either too cloudy, too smoggy or...I'm asleep...(I think it's the latter).
Absolutely beautiful (this picture comes nowhere near to doing it justice)!

After that, I fell asleep. When I awoke, I found myself on a train in the middle of a snowstorm somewhere between Nagoya and Kyoto.

But 15 minutes later the weather in Kyoto was great!
